Revision 26-2; Effective April 1, 2026
SNAP
A combined allotment is when benefits are issued for the initial month and the following month at the same time.
Issue a combined allotment for applications if the:
- benefits are prorated;
- household is eligible for the application month and the following month; and
- application file date is after the 15th of the month.
Issue a combined allotment for redeterminations if the:
- benefits are prorated;
- household is eligible for application month and the following month; and
- file date is after the certification period between Day 16 through Day 30.
Note: Issue a combined allotment if the household is eligible for the first month but not receiving benefits because the proration is less than $10. Issue a combined allotment within expedited service time frames for expedited applications and redeterminations, even if postponing verification.
Inform households receiving combined allotments:
- when the benefits are available;
- that no other benefits are available until the third month; and
- that the third month’s benefits are available on the regular issuance schedule.
The eligibility determination system identifies and issues benefits to households eligible for a combined allotment. It holds the third month's benefits if the combined allotment certification has postponed verification.
